So I uploaded again under a new identifier. This time I got all the way through the metadata and my item disappears. The files are there but I can't see the metadata and the system can't find the page for the show. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

The upload process for this item was never finished.

http://www.archive.org/details/sts92006-09-21.akg483flacf

Go to this URL and you should see a screen where you need to pick a collection for your item. Pick the appropriate band from the etree drop down and then click the Submit etree button.

You'll be taken to a screen where you enter the metadata for the show, and when you've submitted that it will take about 20 minutes for the show to become public.

You got the error message immediately after the upload was complete, right? If that happens again, give it ten minutes and try again. It just means the machine hasn't finished copying the files over yet.

Your first item is in the exact same state:

We can take down whichever version you decide not to use.

Thanks,

Alexis

I've chosen a collection 10 times now. Every time the log shows that it was succussful but the link takes me right back to the page to choose a collection? I've waited longer than 20 min. each time...anywhere from 20 min to 8 hrs. The same thing happens over and over.

Thanks!

Are you uploading into the folder that's provided in the FTP address given, or are you putting the files outside it? I can't tell what happened with the first identifier you tried (which is why I didn't respond) but the second one looks like it had an "aborted checkout" happen. This is the error it gave:

"warning: umount -f '/tmp/incoming/bobo1111@msn.com/sts92006-09-21.akg483flacf' exited with error retval:1, but told to continue on..."

Of course, I have no idea what that means, but maybe an engineer or someone more knowledgeable can have a whack at it...

Also, is there any chance you're deleting or somehow modifying the XML files in the directory?
